According to the latest notice from Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), electronic device interfaces and smartphone chargers sold in the Saudi market will be required to use USB Type-C interfaces starting from August 1, 2024. Related products must meet the requirements of the updated standards SASO IEC 62680-1-2:2017, SASO IEC 62680-1-3:2017 to obtain a certificate of conformity.
From October 1, 2024, PCOC certificates that have been issued previously but fail to meet the new requirements will not be able to be used to apply for SCOC, and the original certificates will be cancelled by SASO.
